What is shaping?

Shaping is a technology used to slow down the speed of a broadband ADSL connection. We use this technology on all of our broadband plans (except 256k plans), when the data cap is reached. When shaping is used, it reduces the speed of the connection to 64k (dialup speed). From there, you are free to download as much as you want, however it will be a lot slower than what it was previously.

How do I check my usage?

If you are a current HugoNet customer, simply click here and it will take you straight to the Members section. Next you'll need to enter your current user name and password. Once you have typed in your user name and password, click the 'Login' button, this will log you into the members section of our web site.

In the members section, you can view all sorts of data about your internet usage. For example, you can see how many hours you have spent online, how much data you have downloaded, and also view past and present bills. You can also change your password from here, as well as activate a pre-paid dialup pack if you are an existing member.

How do I sign up for HugoNet Dialup or Broadband?

Signing up for a HugoNet Dialup or Broadband is a simple any painless experience. All you have to do is click here and choose the correct form. Please note that you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader installed to view these forms. It can be downloaded for free here. Simply print the form out, fill it out, and either post it to us, drop it in to one of our agency's, or scan and email it back to us.

What is The Billing Cycle?

HugoNet operates on a calendar month billing cycle. Because most accounts will not be created on the first of the month, you will be billed a pro-rata amount for the rest of your first month, to bring you inline with our billing cycle. Note: this only applies to plans and charges which are billed per month.

Any excess usage fees that you may incur during a billing period are charged in arrears at the end of that month, and added to your next invoice.
